Dr Jayanty performs many procedures in his office as well as other clinical and hospital settings.  The following list gives a brief description of some of them.  If you require any of these tests, you will be given more detailed information.

ENDOSCOPY
Flexible fiber optic tube is used to investigate abdominal hollow organs under sedation or without sedation.

GASTROSCOPY
Endoscopy used to examine the esophagus, stomach, and small intestine under sedation.

COLONOSCOPY
The colon is examined from the rectum all the way up to the cecum and small intestine under sedation.

SIGMOIDOSCOPY
Only the rectum and sigmoid colon up to around 40-50 centimeters are examined without sedation.

BACTERIAL OVERGROWTH TEST
To see if excessive growth of bacteria in the intestines is causing gas and abdominal pain. Read more about Diarrhea

24-HOUR PH MONITORING
To see if your chest pain and abdominal pain is definitely from acid reflux or not. Read more about Heartburn

ERCP
The endoscope is passed into the small intestine, the pancreatic duct and the bile duct are injected with a dye and x-rays are taken.

ERCP with SPHINCTEROTOMY
After the ERCP, if a stone or scarring in the bile duct is found, the sphincter muscle is severed with an electro-cautery wire.

HEMORRHOIDECTOMY
This is done with the help of a machine using DC galvanic current or banding.

REMICADE INFUSION
For Crohn’s Disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

CAPSULE ENDOSCOPY
Consists of swallowing a capsule with a camera and flash to evaluate the esophagus and the small intestine.

LACTOSE AND FRUCTOSE INTOLERANCE TESTING
To see if the excessive gas is related to milk intolerance or fruit juice intolerance.
